《 brief history of humankind 》

Huang Sha presented the work of Israeli author Yuval Noah Harari— "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind: From Animal to God." He analyzed the book's four key sections—the "Cognitive Revolution,"   "Agricultural Revolution,"   "Convergence and Unification," and "Technological Revolution" —using accessible language to explain how Homo sapiens distinguished themselves among numerous species. Drawing on the book's central arguments, he emphasized that reading "Sapiens" essentially involves finding a framework for understanding the present within the complex tapestry of history. We must maintain a clear awareness of the narratives we believe in and, amid this rapid wave of change, exercise greater rationality and less blind conformity.

Market Department II: Huang Shuxian

《I'm as timid as a mouse.》

Huang Shuxian presented Yu Hua's contemporary short story, 《I Am as Timid as a Mouse》. She distilled the story's plot into four sections: her childhood marked by the label of "timidity," her father's tragedy, her adulthood upon entering the factory, and the eruption of her adult self. She argued that "timidity" is a neutral term—it reflects a clear awareness of risk, a fear of harming others, and a rejection of violent behavior. Similarly, "cowardice" is not weakness but kindness; "inferiority" is not an end but a starting point toward self-awareness. By analyzing the protagonist's psychology, Huang Shuxian's presentation resonated deeply with many colleagues present, prompting reflection.

Award Ceremony

Subsequently, Deputy Manager Wang Jiapeng from the R&D Team and Manager Lan E from the Second Marketing Department presented bonuses and gifts to the two speakers respectively, expressing gratitude for their insightful contributions.

This year's awards ceremony featured both immediate recognition and annual honors. Subsequently, Manager Jiang Zhuolin from the Administration Department, Manager Lin Yang from the Information Technology Department, Manager Hu Wenjian from the Quality Department, and Manager Ran Xiaoming from the Human Resources Department presented awards to the colleagues honored in the 2025 Reading Club Annual Awards. The recipients of the 2025 "Best Popularity Award" were Wang Ling from the Administration Department for her work "The Revolutionary Heroes of My Hometown" and Zhong Juan from the Production Engineering Department for her work "The Biography of Confucius." Zhong Juan also received the annual "Outstanding Content Award" for her high-quality content sharing. Additionally, the "Outstanding Planning Award" was awarded to a representative from the Production Engineering Department.

The introduction of event rewards and annual awards aims to encourage every colleague who loves reading and enjoys sharing, while also inspiring more people to actively engage with books, improve themselves through reading, and experience the joy of reading.
